As Garrett points out below, Robert A. George makes some good points in discussing President Obama's incredibly dismissive initial reaction to yesterday's shootings at Fort Hood.
Today, the President tried it again. Sadly, the results weren't much better. Speaking this morning, President Obama's main message to an American public reeling from this act of mass murder was an admoninition to avoid "jumping to conclusions before we have all the facts."
Now, it's refreshing to see how much the President has learned since his own display of "jumping to conclusions" last summer, when the matter concerned his friend, Professor Gates, and Gates' allegations of racism against a white police officer.
But with the warning about "jumping to conclusions" this morning, we all know what Obama's really saying here: Look, you bigots, don't start making the ugly assumptions you're prone to making, just because the killer was Muslim.
It's all very reminiscent of a few of the nitwits in the wake of 9/11, whose primary (and unjustified) concern seemed to be that a bunch of haters would immediately start lynching anyone of Arab descent in this county in response to the attacks on America.
And it's remarkable how little insight this President has about the true nature of the country he leads, does he?

The fact that he called for not 'jumping to conclusions' shows what he was thinking. He just never knows when to be quiet. Innuendo is such an ingrained part of his messages and this is no different.
Is he really going to Walter Reed to meet with the troops or to is he really going to get information about Hasan's time there? Yes, this is a legitimate question given his recent photo ops related to the troops - he is transparent and it shows he is only interested in himself. |

Obama showed his racism during the nutty professor episode by jumping to conclusions.Besides yelling Allah Akbar this muslim murderer also posted on a blog that suicide bombers were no different than an American soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save his buddies.Some comparision,murdering unsuspecting women and children or trying to save the lives of you friends.
He made numerous comments about how the United States didn't belong in Iraq or Afganistan.To many American soldiers are dying from so called friendly muslims. |

It will kill you when Obama goes to the base, is hugged and accepted by the military families (he didn't shoot their loved ones, and he didn't send them over to Iraq on a wild goose chase for non-existent WMD), and gets to give a speech that shows compassion for the dead and wounded, and for those of our fellow citizens who are law abiding muslims. |

The Majority of Americans DO NOT WANT the public (taxpayer burden) option. Try READING some official websites and stop listening to the little blurbs from the SSM.
You may be in that 5% who who don't mind standing in lines to get something for nothing but the rest of the country is ready and willing to work for what they get and would rather have their FREEDOM to choose.

Perhaps if the GOP during the time it controlled Congress had tried to do something about pre-existing conditions and other insurance company games, they could have stopped the groundswell for a public option.

Did you confuse my post with another? I never 'blamed' anyone particular admin for any 'problems' with healthcare. As for the pre-ex clauses, pre-ex conditions do not always mean denial of coverage and there are always companies willing to write a plan although it costs more just as when you apply for auto insurance and choose your level of coverage and they check to see if you are a risk due to accidents.
We will see how far they get with shoving this through and then we will see how fast it is repealed after the elections in November 2010. |
